Efficiency used to come from better materials and better fuel. Both are approaching their limits, so the next percentage point increasingly comes from design: how a blade, heat exchanger, or rotor is shaped, and how every component works as one system. Finding that gain means exploring tradeoffs at every level, from system-level architecture down to a single component's geometry, across a design space too large to search by hand.
Conventional CAD can't hold that search together. nTop generates and evaluates those designs directly, so the search for the next percent of efficiency is something you can actually finish.
